Two seasons rythment life in Guadeloupe:
The dry season, called the Lent, from December to May. It is the tourist tourist season.
The wet season June at November, the wintering, the "period" favorable to the phenomena cylonic being located August at September.
As of January the communes and associations compete of originality to be represented during processions by groups with the multicoloured costumes dancing with the sound of the gwo ka
or other instruments of local invoices. These very popular demonstrations continue until Fatty Tuesday with for apogee the large procession and, the Ash Wednesday the incineration of Vaval, the king of the carnival.
Every four years the Guadeloupe acceuille competitors of the Road of Rum. The arrival of this race of sailing ships is the occasion great festivities on the Place of the Victoire with Point-with-Clown. For the amateurs of operation go to the Low-Ground buoy which is the obliged passage of these sailing ships which go up then the coast with the wind to the wet dock of Point-with-Clown.
